Contains various materials related to the career of Portuguese diplomat, Henrique J. Laidley. Materials include a bound volume
of a letterpress copy book with diplomatic correspondence, loose sheets of letterpress copy letters (1 folder), a hand painted
flag of Portugal (287 x 494 mm), and a letters patent, in Portuguese, nominating Laidley for Vice-Consul in San Francisco,
California, signed by Consul Francis Berton, and countersigned by Portuguese officials with official seal affixed. Also includes
some personal correspondence of Laidley's, two receipts for newspaper subscriptions, and a clipping of a portrait of an unidentified
man (possibly Laidley). Also includes a typescript membership list of the San Francisco Physicians Women's Club dated March
25, 1928, and two 1984 obituary clippings for Elizabeth Lutgens Nurse. It is unclear what the relationship of the later materials
is to Laidley.
